In a striking statement made during a recent Endless Frontiers innovation retreat in Austin, Texas, a top White House official suggested that the United States possesses technology capable of manipulating space and time.

Michael Kratsios, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, made the remarks during a keynote address, portions of which were later published on the official White House website.

“But we are capable of so much more,” Kratsios said. “Our technologies permit us to manipulate time and space. They leave distance annihilated, cause things to grow and improve productivity.”

In his speech, Kratsios also pointed to regulatory barriers as a major challenge to innovation in the energy sector, stating that “the greatest obstacle to limitless energy in this country has been a regulatory regime opposed to innovation and development.”

He concluded by revisiting the idea of space-time manipulation, reinforcing what he described as the nation’s “untapped potential” in emerging technological fields.

The remarks have sparked both intrigue and skepticism online, with many calling for further clarification from the administration.
